The end of the 20th century saw the emergence of the notion of the circular economy. Consumers search for meaning and authenticity in the way they consume, with increased respect for the environment. It appears that with the COVID-19 pandemic, this trend has accelerated. Consumers are moving more towards locally produced products.

To address this, the Conseil économique et coopératif de la Saskatchewan (CÉCS) is developing a platform called “The marketplace”. This platform aims to strengthen supply and demand at the provincial levelbenefiting French-speaking economic players.

Francophone producers and sellers in the province will be able to exhibit and promote their products. Consumers will also be able to consult the range of local products available.
