The “Young Canada Works” program is an initiative of the Department of Canadian Heritage (DCH) and is part of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YES).
The Conseil économique et coopératif de la Saskatchewan (CÉCS) administers the Young Canada Works program in both official languages in Manitoba, the
Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Saskatchewan.
Employers
Employers can benefit from a subsidy covering part of a student’s salary for students living more than 125 km from the workplace. It helps promote the mobility of young people and the hiring of a diverse staff.
For more information on the program, visit the JCT program website.
Students
The Young Canada Works program is for young people aged 16 to 30 looking for work in their study field. It allows them to acquire practical work experience, primarily by improving their second official language.
