Principle Purpose of Job
The Room Attendant will be responsible for providing for the comfort of guests of the hotel by ensuring that guest rooms and public areas are clean and properly presented. The Room Attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests, and must be pleasant, friendly and able to address problems or special requests.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Efficiently clean assigned number of rooms per day keeping within departmental standards.
- Ensure all assigned service areas are clean and tidy at all times including disposing of all rubbish appropriately.
- Ensure all assigned areas are kept clean, safe and hygienic.
- Ensure additional cleaning programs are undertaken as directed and to the performance standards required.
- Pack and replenish trolleys to the required standard at the end of each shift, therefore minimizing lost time at the start of each shift.
- Ensure housekeeping trolleys are neat and tidy at all times.
- Respond to guests and staff inquiries, requests and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Take personal responsibility to ensure maximum guest satisfaction at all times.
- Place all soiled linen in appropriate storeroom as soon as removed from guest room.
- Ensure all lost property items left in guest rooms are recorded on the worksheet and handed in to the Supervisor/Manager at the end of the shift.
- Secure guest rooms, ensuring all doors and windows are closed when room clean is complete.
- Complete start and finish times for each room cleaned on worksheet.
- Ensure all maintenance and safety hazards are promptly reported to the Supervisor/Manager to minimize hazard risk and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction at all times.
- Take personal responsibility for equipment, ensuring it is operated correctly and secure at all times.
- Ensure grooming, hygiene and safety procedures are maintained according to Policy and procedures.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products, and the correct handling procedures.
- Promote and encourage a strong team work ethic.
- Perform duties of House Person and Laundry Attendant as required.
- Any other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor or Executive Housekeeper.

Work Conditions
