The Role 

This position is responsible forcontributing to the success of MCAP by servicing existing mortgage tax accounts.  The representative is vital in promoting a professional image to all customers, while building and maintaining quality customer relationships.  They are responsible for performing servicing aspects related to mortgage tax accounts, while managing the expectations of the customer, via outbound telephone calls, e-mails or faxes. 


  • Identify and analyze to ensure complete understanding of the customer’s needs 
  • Provide accurate information regarding customers tax account and payment information 
  • Respond to inquiry / need, and decide upon the most appropriate solution available, taking into consideration the customer’s situation and existing policies and procedures 
  • Recommend appropriate solutions or alternative options to resolve customer needs 
  • Regularly keep self-up-to-date on knowledge of new tax procedures and policies 
  • Respond to and answer customers’ inquires promptly and in timely manner 
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations, while maintaining positive customer relations 
  • Deliver quality service, to ensure a positive experience and customer satisfaction 
  • Calculating and communicating manual tax adjustments to customers if tax portion increases cannot be made 
  • Removing and adding tax portions based on lender guidelines and rules and ensuring tax account shortfalls are collected from customer 
  • Handling investigations and escalations with respect to taxes, including contacting tax municipalities for information of taxes paid or levies, confirming payments made or outstanding and contacting customer for tax bill information and home owner grant information. 
  • Providing customers with tax payment history in the method requested (ie fax, e-mail or mail) and ensuring fees are set and collected based on lender guidelines 
  • Set tasks to other areas for refund requests and communication with French tax offices 
  • Monitoring of faxes and e-mails of loose bills to be paid for review and sent for payment

  • College Diploma 


  • Knowledge of the Residential Mortgage Industry is nice to have 
  • Business experience in an operations environment 


  • Organizational and time-management skills 
  • Analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Ability to prioritize volumes of work 
  • System navigational skills 
  • Detail oriented 
  • Proficiency reading, writing and speaking French
